So you should be able to use any remote control. I believe all LGs use the same basic IR signaling. When I project my PC screen wirelessly and choose "show only on display 2" (the TV), the magic remote controls the PC cursor, can click and drag, open files, etc. The Magic Remote adds an RF component i think so other older magic remotes have issues.

One working example is the Apple TV receives the CEC commands just fine. On previous LG TV’s the pointer would come on as soon as you move the remote, this no longer happens and it’s a welcome. If you mean the 'magic mouse' part of the controller no, that cant be used, but button presses go across CEC from the TV without issue. The 2019 range has made it easier to immediately disable the pointer.
